Senator James Seward Secures $108,000 in NYS DOT Funding for New Road In Preble Project will Serve Barden Expansion

Senator James L. Seward announced $108,000 in funding through the New York State Department of Transportation Industrial Access Program to assist Barden Homes with a major expansion project. The IAP funding is a 60% grant and 40% no-interest loan.

Barden and Robeson, the Northeast's leading manufacturer of custom designed pre-engineered homes, will be investing approximately $4.5 million to acquire land and construct a new 100,000 sq. ft. manufacturing, storage and office facility, as well as purchase related machinery and equipment for a move to the Town of Preble. The company ships throughout New England, the Mid-Atlantic and the Midwest.

The new road, to completed with IAP funding, will be accepted and maintained by the Town of Preble and will also help create a small corporate/industrial park for the municipality. Barden Homes has indicated that its long term plan is to diversify its business through acquisitions and further product expansions, and is interested in marketing these parcels for additional private investment over the next five years.

The Cortland County Industrial Development Agency is the project sponsor for the project.
