The Cortland County BDC has gone on-line with a new business and agricultural real estate site directory. The new electronic directory of available commercial, industrial and office buildings, farms and agribusiness's, and land for development can be accessed here.

There are several ways to find available sites on the web directory. There is a directory of featured buildings, including commercial, industrial, manufacturing and office buildings, with links to realtor's listings for those properties. In many cases there are also specialized information sheets on each site, with photos and information such as building size, ceiling height, amenities and utility information. In addition, available land for development, including the Finger Lakes Business and Technology Park, is profiled.

Properties in the Empire Zone are featured prominently in the buildings and sites section.

A separate agribusiness section includes profiles of farm markets and food productions facilities, as well as crop, dairy and horse farms that are available for sale. Again, a specialized information sheet on each, or a link to the realtor's listing for the property, provides photos and background information on acreage, buildings and other special site features.

The web directory also includes an electronic form so that prospects can submit requirements and the BDC can work with area realtors to conduct a search to make a site match.

There is also a section of the site that links directly to the Cortland Board of Realtors to allow a more extensive countywide search of more listings.

"The BDC has already won a statewide economic development award for its state of the art web site," noted Chairman Paul Slowey. "This is one more way we're putting cutting edge technology to work here to support business development."

Development of the site was a collaboration between the BDC and area realtors. Site design was done by Oak Road Systems in Virgil and GPP.
