Industry Financing

The County of Cortland Industrial Development Agency is available to help new or expanding industries meet specific needs. The New York State Job Development Agency also provides financial assistance, as does the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, since many areas of the County are eligible for Block Grant programs.

Cortland County and its communities offer real property incentives to new or expanding industries. The County's Industrial Development Agency (IDA) issues tax-exempt bonds to finance real estate and equipment acquisition. Since the IDA is not required to pay taxes, the agency can negotiate with prospective tenants special payment in lieu of taxes. In addition to these financial benefits, low-interest Urban Development Area Grants (UDAG) are available.

The CCBDC works closely with other lending agencies such as the SBDC and the SBA. There are a a number of loan programs specifically targeted for the county through major national lenders.
